Hi! I don't know how this works but I have a problem so I'm just gonna post
it up here.

When I'm connected to the internet and I open explorer after about 5 minutes
I get a message saying "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience." I have had windows
reinstalled since this problem started and it hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Sounds like another program interfering with IE.
I've had IE crash on me a few times with that error. Every time it has I've
sent off the error report and after a while you find that after you send off
yet another one a dialog box comes up with a hyperlink to Microsoft. When
you click on that you are sent to a page with a short three line explanation
of the problem and usually a hyperlink to either a Microsoft page or another
companies page.
As I said I've had a few of these crashes as I use a lot of third party
software off the web. My experience is that Microsoft sort out the problem
within a month or two.
A quicker solution is to update any programs that you got off the web, such
as:-

Real Player, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Adobe Acrobat.
