I upgraded my computer with a new hard drive and windows xp .My old hard
drive with windows 98se is now slaved and ready to transfer any files I wish
to find .....Finding IE 6.0 favorites file is the problem. I thought it
would just be sitting in a folder labeled clearly ....but it isn't!
Can anyone help with this issue
Thx in advance

Dear Sir,

I am a new participant in news group, I saw your problem today. If you
have already found out then please forgive me.

The name of the directory is Favoute in c:\documents and Settings\ user

i.e. if your user name is say joseph then the directory favourites with the
folder icon yellow star will be sitting in above directory.

In that there will be folders like Links etc. and each favourte item will be
a file of about 1kb size with appropriate icon.

You can directly copy these icon files in the favourites directory of the
new drive.

Hope this helps

Regards
